Our offers

What?

Our beginners' swimming training is divided into two areas:

• The basic training in the learning pool (completion: Seahorse). 
• advanced training up to safe swimming (swimming badge bronze) on the lane.

We aim to train all people who start swimming with us at least until they have achieved the swimming badge bronze.

Who?

Anyone can learn to swim with us. We offer beginner swim training for:

• Children from the age of 5
• Teenagers
• Adults

Time and place

There is a common beginning of each group, but no fixed number of hours until the seahorse examination. Each child/adult can get to know the water at their own pace and learn to swim. This will usually take about one year.

Beginner swim training takes place on Thursdays in the Fischerinsel swimming hall.

• Children's swim training is between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. A training session is 30-35 minutes long.
• Youth beginners train from 7.00 pm to 7:30 pm. A training session is 30 minutes long.
• Adult beginners train between 7:35 pm and 9:00 pm. A training session is 45 minutes long.

Costs

The costs for beginners' swimming are the annual membership fee plus a one-time fee. You can see the current amount here. The costs for BerlinPass holders can be covered.

Available places/ waiting time:

At the moment, unfortunately, all beginner swimming groups are full, so we are currently unable to accept new learners. We therefore ask you to refrain from making enquiries about this at the moment. Please reckon a waiting time of about two years.

Registration procedure for swimming places that become available:
Vacant places will always be sent to the newsletter mailing lists first and will be given a password. Initially, only the people on the mailing list will receive the password. Only if not all places can be filled via this route will the places be advertised on the website, open to all.
For didactic reasons (we build on the content of our beginners' courses in the learning pool), cross-entry into the groups aiming for the swimming badge bronze (safe swimming) is not possible.

What?

Advanced training (e.g. learning to do distance diving) as part of our regular training including the acquisition of further badges.

Who?

Children and youth after acquiring the proof of safe swimming (swimming badge bronze).

We currently do not offer this programme for adults!

Currently, all places in this section are occupied.
Entry into the advanced swimming groups is rarely possible as most of our swimming children continue to swim with us after gaining their swimming badge bronze (safe swimming).

We therefore ask you to refrain from enquiries about this at the moment. If places become available, we will communicate this via our newsletter list.

Our lifeguard courses are usually taught in German, but can also be taught in English by prior arrangement. However, it is easiest for us to teach closed groups in English.
We therefore ask that you contact us in advance at drsa@mitte.dlrg.de if training in English is desired.

Due to limited resources, we are unfortunately not able to offer first aid courses in English for individuals. 
However, we may offer first aid courses for closed groups (min. 12 persons) upon request. Please understand that this requires a lead time of approx. 8 weeks. If you are interested, please contact firstaid(at)mitte.dlrg.de.
